If you’re looking for something more intense, the 27.6-mile Alice Lake Loop is a challenging option. There are several trails around Alice Lake south of Stanley, but the Alice Lake Loop takes you to Imogene Lake and Toxaway Lake, which are higher in the Sawtooths. There’s an elevation gain of 5,659 feet, and the loop can take up to 14 hours to complete if you want the full experience.
